Today’s Scripture reading is 2 Chronicles 20:10-12.
Verse 12 - "...but our eyes are upon thee."
The nation of Israel had no other options but to look to God for help.  They were without any other plans or ideas.  Their enemies were too powerful and they could not overcome them.
Why does it seemingly take times of desperation for God's children to turn their eyes upon Him?  By turning our eyes upon Him, we are admitting that we are weak, inadequate, and completely dependant on His help.  How can we think for a second that we can handle our own lives without God?  Now, I am quite sure we would never say verbally that we don't need God.  However, I believe our actions speak very loudly.  Our best and only option is to turn our eyes upon the Lord.  Our best and only option is to trust His will and way for our lives.
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
Helen Howarth Lemmel

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Saviour,
And life more abundant and free.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
