Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 4:3-6.
Verse 6, "And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father."
There is much to be thankful for in this one verse of Scripture. I would encourage you to read these verses several times with the goal of squeazing everything you can out of them.
Thanksgiving List:
1. Because of Calvary, we are adopted into the family of God! Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection make it possible for anyone to join God's family. Have you received God's gift of salvation?
2. When we believe and receive the Gospel, we are given the Spirit of God. Romans 8:16, "The Spirit itself bears withness with our spirit, that we are the children of God." We find our eternal security in Him!
3. We can cry out to God the Father just as Jesus Christ did when He walked on the earth. Mark 14:36, "And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possbile unto thee;"
Today would be a good day to thank God for all that He provided so we could be called HIS children.
