Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 4:6, "For God, who commanded the light to shine
out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of
God in the face of Jesus Christ."
A powerful comparison is made by Paul regarding physical and spiritual light. God has
the power to proved both. He provided physical light in Genesis 1:3, "And God said, Let there
be light: and there was light." He provided spiritual light through His Son,
Jesus Christ. John 1:9, "That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh
into the world." The enemy seeks to keep the lost in darkness while God is light and in
Him there is no darkness.
We need to pray daily that the light of Christ in us will be seen by the lost we interact
with. It is important that we keep our lives clean so the light will not be dimmed.
