Our Scripture reading today is 1 Peter 5:6, "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:"
There is no question that humility before God always leads to His blessings. The Lord
Jesus is our greatest example of humility. He left all that Heaven has to offer to live
amongst sinner. He not only lived amongst them, but He allowed them to crucify Him
so we could be saved. The sinless Son of God laid down His life for those who were
crucifying Him.
God's plan for a successful life does not line up with the world's philosophy. “If you are willing to be
nothing God will make something of you. The way to the top of the ladder is to begin at the lowest round.
In fact in the church of God, the way up is to go down; but he that is ambitious to be at the top will find
himself before long at the bottom.” (Spurgeon) Let's seek today to be humble servants of the LORD!
