Our Scripture reading today is 2 Kings 6:14-17.
Verse 17, "And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."
It seemed to Elisha's servant that all hope was lost.  They were in Dothan and they were surrounded by an host of soldiers, chariots and horses.  The servant of Elisha is out of answers, but has one question in verse 15, "Alas, my master! how shall we do?"  We might rearrange the wording and say, "Elisha, what are we going to do?"  It really did seem to be a hopeless situation.  What Elisha's servant did not see was the host of chariots, horses and fire that were on the mountain.  Elisha prays to the LORD and asks Him to allow his servant to see who was on their side.  He did not pray for the situation to change, only that the servant could see God's mighty provision.
It could be that you feel surrounded today by someone or some situation.  We must remember that God never abandons His children.  God is always near.  Whether or not we can see all that God is doing does not change the fact that He in some way is looking after our needs.  We can trust God with every trial.  “Faith is never the imagining of unreal things. It is the grip of things which cannot be demonstrated to the senses, but which are real. The chariots of horses and fire were actually there.” (Morgan)
Have a wonderful day.
