Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 55:22, "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

I had to chuckle a bit when reading the last phrase of this verse.  The actual meaning of not being moved is that we will always be in God's favour.  Nothing can change the fact that through Jesus Christ we are a child of God.  Whatever God gives us will fully sustain us.  Psalm 37:25, "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."  The word, "burden", means that which is given.  It literally means a gift.

As we look at our lives on this beautiful Monday morning, God is faithful to give us blessings and burdens.  All of which are necessary in the shaping and reshaping of our lives.  Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."  We can trust Him to do what is best for His glory.
