Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 77:9, "Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger
shut up his tender mercies? Selah."

There may come a time in one's life when he or she feels like asking the
questions that Asaph asked. The path that God takes us on does not always
seem like the one we would have chosen. We must remember that His will
is not always easy, but His will is always best. God has not forgotten any of
His children and the needs they have. He will not start with you. Psalm 69:16,
"Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude
 of thy tender mercies."

“If you are a child of God, yet never had to ask these questions, you ought to be very grateful; but if you have to ask them, be very thankful that Asaph asked them before you; and believe that, as he had a comfortable answer to them, so shall you. It is always a comfort when you can see the footprints of another man in the mire and the slough, for if that man passed through unharmed, so may you, for his God shall also be your Helper.” (Spurgeon)
