Our Scripture reading today is Luke 5:4-6.
Verse 5, "Nevertheless at thy word I will..."
This statement by Simon should be our motto for life.  Our will should be to do the will of the Father.  Our daily walk should be to walk in His Word.  God has promised to direct our paths.  Proverbs 3:6, "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."  This Heavenly direction comes after we have acknowledged Him!  The word acknowledge has its meaning within the word.  It means to know, to be aquainted with.  We will know the will of God as we learn more about God.  God has revealed Himself to us and has given us His Spirit to indwell us.  What is it that prevents us from emphatically making the same statement as Simon and then following through on it?
The problem is us.  We are the problem.  Our will needs to die everyday!  The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:31, "...I die daily."  My plans for today must be sacrificed in order to follow His plans.  I pray that we will be a church that seeks to know God more every day in order to be more willing to yield to His will.
