Our Scripture reading today is 2 Kings 4:26, "Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is
it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well."
What a difference Elijah had made in the life of this family. I should say what a
difference the God of Elisha made. It is interesting to me that this mother would
say all was well when her son was dead. This grieving mother did not want to speak
with Gehazi, she wanted to speak with the man of God. She knew he had direct
contact with Almighty God. Elijah already established a legacy with her through
his previous actions.
Do you have a reputation as someone who prays? Do people come to you with prayer
requests in their time of need? The faith that God has given to us should be contagious.
Our testimony is to honour the Lord and encourage others to do the same. When an
opportunity comes to pray for someone, take the time and pray. God is still working
miracles!
