Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 9:37-38, "Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."
The clear emphasis of these words of Jesus Christ is the need for labourers. I am not sure
there has ever been a time when there were enough labouers. We can moan and groan
about the problem or we can pray for more labourers. We find in these verses the only
prayer request of Jesus Christ. Since He only left one request, I would say it is very
important that we faithfully pray for God to send forth more labourers.
Anchor Baptist Church is in great need of labourers. We need more willing servants of
the Lord. If you are serving in some capacity, would you please join with me in
praying for more children of God to come forward and serve. Prayer changes things.
