Our Scripture reading today is 2 Timothy 4:1-2.
Verse 2, "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine."
The very first word of verse two is translated from the Greek word, kay-roos'-so.  It means to herald (as a public crier), especially divine truth (the gospel):—preacher(-er), proclaim, publish.  The context of these verses is a challenge to the young pastor named, Timothy.  The Apostle Paul was instructing him as to how he should pattern his preaching.  There is an application that can be made to everyone who has been born again of God's Spirit.  We have the great privilege and responsibility to preach the divine truth that we call the Gospel.  This truth has been given to us not to hide but to reveal.
Our emphasis in what we are publishing must always be the Word.  2 Timothy 1:8, "Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;"  The Word of God is His testimony.  God's Word is and always will be changing lives!
