Our Scripture reading today is Exodus 24:13, "And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God."
The great leader Moses was influencing the next leader of the people of Israel. Joshua would follow Moses for many years and eventually God would have Joshua take over. It was so important that Moses set a godly example for Joshua to follow.
There is always someone watching our example. There is always someone that we are leading with how we live our lives. The decisions that we make are not just for the path that we are taking. They will have an influence on those who are following after us. We need God's wisdom every day in order to lead others appropriately. James 1:5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
