Our Scripture reading today is Romans 5:20-21, "Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord."

We know there is a need in our life for God's grace.  The law cannot be fully kept by
anyone.  Sin is abounding in every life.  God's amazing grace is also up for the task.  It
provides us with eternal life through Jesus Christ.  Sin brings death and grace brings
life.  It is imperative that we strive to live our new life in Christ by His grace.  Sin or
grace will reign depending on which one we yield to.  “As heat is opposed to cold, and light to darkness, s
o grace is opposed to sin. Fire and water may as well agree in the same vessel as grace and sin in the
same heart.” (Thomas Benton Brooks)
