Our Scripture reading today is Ephesians 6:10-11, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
The Apostle Paul's final words to the church at Ephesus included an admonition to find their strength and protection in the Lord.  He has challenged them time and time again regarding how they should walk in the Christian life.  This final challenge sums it all up.  They would need the Lord's might and power.  "Might is inherent power or force. A muscular man’s big muscles display his might, even if he doesn’t use them. It is the reserve of strength. Power is the exercise of might. When the muscular man uses his might to bend an iron bar, he uses his power. It means that the reserve of strength is actually in operation."
While these two qualities are both available to us as believers, they will do us no good if we sit passively by and except them to just come upon us.  As we step out in faith to do the work of the Lord, His might and power kick in and we can accomplish whatever task He has called us to do.  My faith is not in past victories or experiences.  My faith is not in my biblical education or training.  My faith must always be in HIS might and power!  Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
