Our Scripture reading today is Psalm 23:4, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of
death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
We have a faithful, ever-present God. One of the many tools of our enemy is fear. He is
the originator of fear and is attempting to cripple us by inflicting it on us at a moments
notice. The Great Shepherd that we spoke about on Wednesday is always ready to
answer the call for help. He knows exactly what will help and comfort us in our time of
need. There is no need for the child of God to worry and fear. “It has an inexpressibly delightful application
to the dying; but it is for the living, too…. The words are not in the future tense, and therefore are not
reserved for a distant moment.” (Spurgeon)
We are promised the peace and comfort of God which passes all of our understanding. Claim it
today from our Great Shepherd!
