Our Scripture reading today is Romans 8:9-11.
Verse 11, "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."
It is amazing how God continues to teach us about His Spirit. As born again believers, we have the same Spirit dwelling in us that raised of Jesus Christ from the grave! This Scripture is another proof of the potential power Christians have to overcome temptation and live on the winning side. Are you living on the winning side? The Holy Spirit can provide all the power you need. It is up to us to be emptied of self and filled with the Spirit.
Our new life can be traced back to the quickening of the Holy Spirit. Once we were dead in our sins and now our spirit is alive through the power of God's Spirit. The body we have will die one day, but will also be made alive in the resurrection. Philippians 3:21, "Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." Can you see that life always leads us back to God and His Spirit? Praise the LORD today for the life He is providing you now and the life you will have in Heaven some day.
