Our Scripture reading today is 2 Kings 1:7-8.
Verse 8, And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about
his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite."
Elijah was a man of reputation. The king knew it was him based solely on the
description of his looks and attire. This is the same prophet that called down
fire on Mt. Carmel. What are you known by at work or school? What are you
known by in your home? We all have a certain reputation that our actions or
words have created. It is our responsibility as believers to point people to
Jesus Christ with our life and our lips.
