Our Scripture reading today is Hebrews 4:12-13.
Verse 12, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
When we hold in our hands the Word of God, we are holding the ONLY book like it. God's Word is alive and it brings life. The Bible meets so many different daily needs. God's Word gives victory when we are faced with temptation. God's Word gives comfort when we are faced with a burden or trial. God's Word gives direction when we are in need of guidance and direction. The Word of God has everything you and I need to be the disciple Jesus Christ saved us to be. Don't neglect the Bible!
It is of the utmost importance that we continue to give God's Word to lost souls we come into contact with. The Word of God will bring conviction and faith. Romans 10:17, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." We are all commanded to go and preach the Gospel. One way we can preach the Gospel is by giving people Gospel tracts. We are not spreading our word, but we are spreading God's Word! Are you regularly planting the seed of God's Word around you?
