Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 24:23-25.
Verse 24, "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
We have a responsibility as followers of Jesus Christ to be students of the Word of God.  One way to do this is to be faithful to the church services of Anchor Baptist Church.  While there, we will hear the Word taught and preached.  However, this should not be the only time we open our Bibles during the week.  Another way to be a student of the Word is to read it and then meditate on it every day.  God's Word is to our spirit what food is to our body.  Far too many Christians are starving their spirit which leads to defeat and discouragement.  The Holy Spirit dwells within us and is our teacher as we seek to understand and apply what we are reading.
A constant taking in of the TRUTH will help us to avoid being deceived by our enemy.  Satan will use whoever and whatever that looks right to bring about confusion and deception.  Our daily walk must be led by the Spirit of God through the Word of God.  2 John 1:6, "And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it."
