Our Scripture reading today is Acts 19:23, 28-29.
Verse 28, "And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great
is Diana of the Ephesians."
Once again we come to a very timely passage of Scripture from the Word of God. The
message of the Gospel was met with outrage Ephesus forcing them to find a place of
shelter. Their lives were in danger because of the truth that was being preached. The
same outrage was on full display yesterday in Utah when Charlie Kirk was gunned
down in broad daylight. Mr. Kirk is a devout and outspoke born again Christian. His
message went against the current just like Paul's did in Acts 19. It was Demetrius in
Paul's case who rose up to take matters into his own hands. I pray that justice will be
served to whoever pulled the trigger and ended Charlie's physical life.
History has been known to repeat itself. Satan opposes truth with a passion. He is on
the prowl to kill and destroy. He is taking Christians out of church and God's service
one by one. It is time for God's people to be men and women of Bible conviction. God
has given us so many blessings. What are we doing with them? Sadly, many Christians
are walking away. By the grace of God, let us stand and stay for the glory of God.
