Our Scripture reading today is 2 Timothy 3:14-17.
Verse 14, "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;"
How many of us can remember a teacher or two that we had when we were younger?  How about a Sunday school teacher or pastor?  It could have been someone else in the church that mentored us.  The Apostle Paul admonishes Timothy to continue in what he has been, but also to remember who taught him.  There were specific people in Timothy's life that taught him Biblical principles.  These principles would mould his character to bring glory to God.
I am thankful for my mentors, Sunday school teachers, youth pastors, and pastors.  Each one God placed in my life for such a time as this.  Many of them are with their Saviour in Heaven.  It is my responsibility to continue to faithfully live by the Biblical principles they taught me whether in a classroom or the way they lived their life.  In addition to that, I am to pass along Biblical principles to those whom God allows me to influence.
Whether we are in the "Timothy" stage of life or "Paul" stage of life, we can all be thankful to the Lord for His Word and those He has used to encourage us to be strong in faith.  Everyone of us must continue for God's glory!
