Our Scripture reading today is 1 Corinthians 10:12-13.
Verse 12, "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."
The attitude the Apostle Paul is challenging us to guard against is overconfidence.  We must guard against coming to place a place in our Christian life where we think we are invincible.  Our enemy is very powerful and without the help of the Spirit of God; can defeat us without much effort.  Satan is the great deceiver and is always looking for ways to discourage and defeat us. He is not intimidated by how much Bible we know or how long we have been saved.  "Temptation works like rocks in a harbour; when the tide is low, everybody sees the danger and avoids it. But Satan’s strategy in temptation is to raise the tide, and to cover over the dangers of temptation. Then he likes to crash you upon the covered rocks."
We are reminded of the importance of proper thinking.  As we go into our daily battle with our enemy, our mind must remain on the victory our Lord and Saviour provided us from the cross.  He is continues to be able to deliver us from every wile of the devil!  Praise the Lord!
