Our Scripture reading today is Luke 10:39, "And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word."

Most people when they attend a sporting event want to get the closest and best seat possible.  Thousands of dollars will be spent for one seat at the upcoming Super Bowl.  Why?  They want the best view possible for biggest sporting event of the year.  While I would love to attend a Super Bowl, there is no way I would spend that kind of money.  We might say that Mary had the best seat in the house.  She was on the front row.  She was at the fifty yard line.  This was the greatest teacher Who ever lived.  This was and is the Son of God.  Mary made a very wise decision to get as close as possible to hear Him speak.

Every day, we can get as close to God as we want in order to hear what He has to say.  The Bible is our source of knowing Who God is and what His will is for our lives.  A "front row" seat is available to grow in grace and wisdom.  The more time we give to His Word, the greater equipped we will be to live this life and bring Him glory and honour.
