Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 1:9-10, "But we had the sentence of death in ourselves,
that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;"
All of mankind has the sentence of death on them from birth. The sin nature we inherited
from Adam brought about this death sentence. "For the wages of sin is death..."
Romans 6:23aApart from a relationship with God, we have no hope. Paul makes it clear to the
church at Corinth and to all who would read this letter that is able and willing to give
us life. 1 John 5:11, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son." Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, provides life to the lifeless.
He is the only hope for this fallen world. Tell someone today how to have eternal life!
