Our Scripture reading today is 2 Thessalonians 3:4, "And we have confidence in the Lord touching
you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you."
The key to spiritual growth is not only reading the Word of God, but it is obeying
what we are reading. Obedience leads to growth as well as blessings. Paul was
confident that the Lord was leading the Thessalonians to follow what they were
being told. What they were being told was essentially the Word of God.
Maturity in Christ is seen when we obey His commandments. What does our
spiritual record look like? Are we allowing the Spirit of God to guides to truth?
"God doesn’t just pour spiritual maturity and stability into us. He works it in us through our
cooperation with His will." It is time for God's people to grow up
into Christ. It is time for God's people to put away childish things and live for the
glory of God!
