Our Scripture reading today is Micah 6:6, "Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?"
There ought to be humility in our hearts as we come before the LORD. He desires for us
to bring our praises and petitions to Him. He is holy and will not work with our pride. God
has been more than good to us. God has made it possible for us to be forgiven and have
a personal relationship with Him.
I am reminded of a verse in 1 Samuel. "And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt
offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." 1 Samuel 15:22
Our obedience is what God desires. Come before Him with
a humble, obedient heart.
