Our Scripture reading today is Matthew 11:28-30.

Verse 29, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."
As born again children of God, we should also strive to be His disciples.  A disciple is a disciplined learner.  How disciplined are you?  The more we learn about Christ from the Word of God, the more prepared we will be to follow Him faithfully.  This will take a dedicated effort on our part to put on the yoke of Jesus Christ.  When we do this, we are not simply receiving something, but we are committing ourselves to being guided by it as well.  A yoke is meant to guide.

Who or what are we going to allow to guide us?  The world, the flesh and the devil will provide us with a yoke as well.  Their yoke might appear to be a better option, but it is very heavy.  It is a yoke of bondage.  Our Saviour, Jesus Christ, is offering us a light yoke.  It is a yoke of freedom.  His yoke will lead us through all the challenges of life to a place of peace and joy.  Be careful which yoke you choose.
